Giving

The sky opens
with no sound
except for what
falls from her

27 toward the Omer

Leading services in
ten minutes twenty
minutes away walking

she stands by
a car paused
at the light

looks in the
window at a
woman looking out

Siberia

A cow with a bell
stands in the grass
by the dusty road.

The grass waves.
A woman in town
has a broken fridge.

She sits in a chair
in her dim kitchen.
The phone is silent.

Five houses away
the repairman,
drinking, sleeps.
